What a bronze screen is for
Bronze is a metallic-looking mid orange-brown. Without a gradient there is nothing metallic about it on screen, which makes it a good demonstration of how much of a metal finish is highlight rather than hue.
An alloy, not an element
Bronze is copper mixed with tin, and it is the only common colour name that refers to a deliberate human invention rather than a natural material. That alloy was hard enough to hold an edge where pure copper was not, and it defined an era of tool-making. Its colour is darker and browner than copper because tin dulls the red, which is exactly the hue relationship you can see on a screen: bronze is essentially a darkened, slightly desaturated copper.

A real bronze surface is defined by how highlights travel across it and by the darkening it acquires with age.
