What blackfullscreen.com collects, the cookies it and its partners use (Google Analytics and Google AdSense), and how to opt out.
blackfullscreen.com does not ask for your name or email to use any tool. This page lists what is collected anyway, the cookies the site and its partners set, and how to opt out.

What the site collects
- Usage statistics. Google Analytics records which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are (country and city level), the browser and device type, and how people arrived. It uses cookies to tell a new visit from a returning one. The site does not send names, emails or anything you type to Google Analytics.
- Ratings. When you rate a tool, the site stores a short one-way code made from your IP address and browser, so the same visitor can only count once. The code cannot be turned back into your IP address, and nothing else about you is stored with it.
- Blog comments. If you leave a comment on the blog, the name, email and website you enter and your IP address are stored with it, to show the comment and to filter spam.
- Server logs. Like any website, the hosting provider keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser) for security and troubleshooting.
Cookies and local storage
- Site cookie. A session cookie (
ci_session) that the site needs to work. It holds no personal information and ends when you close the browser or after a short time. - Your settings. Choices like light or dark theme are kept in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device.
- Analytics cookies from Google Analytics, described above.
- Advertising cookies from Google AdSense, described below.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The tools keep working without them.
Advertising
The site uses Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info, or in the EU at youronlinechoices.eu.

How long data is kept
Google Analytics data is kept for the period set in Google Analytics, at most 14 months. Rating codes are kept for as long as the rating is shown. Blog comments are kept until they are deleted.
Your choices and rights
You can ask what data the site holds about you, or ask for it to be deleted, by emailing hello@blackfullscreen.com. Most of what the site holds cannot be linked to a person, so in practice this mostly covers blog comments. For data held by Google, use the links above or your Google account. To stop Google Analytics on every site, Google offers a browser opt-out add-on.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new date at the top.
