About blackfullscreen
Who runs blackfullscreen.com, what the tools are for, and how the site is paid for.
blackfullscreen.com is a set of free, single-purpose screen tools that run in your browser. Pick a color or a tool, press F, and it fills your whole display. Nothing to install and no account to make.
What it is for
People use a plain black screen to rest a display, cut the light in a dark room, or make a monitor look switched off. A white or colored screen works as a soft light for video calls and photos. The test tools (dead pixel test, monitor test, uniformity, burn-in and refresh rate checks) help you check a new or second-hand screen before the return window closes.
Who runs it
The site is an independent project, built and maintained by one developer. It is not affiliated with any screen, monitor or phone maker.
How it is paid for
The tools are free. The site shows a small number of ads to cover hosting, and ads are kept off the fullscreen view itself so they never get in the way of the tool you opened. The privacy policy explains the cookies those ads use and how to opt out.
Suggest a tool or report a bug
New tools are added based on what people ask for. If a tool does not work on your device, or there is one you would like to see, get in touch.
