Jade wallpaper - solid jade background, 1920 x 1080, hex #00A86B

A plain jade wallpaper at 1920 by 1080, ready to download. It is a flat single-color image with no pattern, gradient or watermark, which is what makes it useful as a desktop or phone background when you want the icons to be the only thing on screen.

If you need a different size, the panel above will generate this exact color at your screen's resolution, at 1440p or 4K, or at common phone dimensions. Both routes give you the same #00A86B.

What a jade screen is for

Jade is a deep blue-green. It sits in the part of the spectrum the eye judges brightness by most accurately, which makes uneven backlighting easy to spot across a large flat field of it.

Two different minerals, one name

Jade refers to two chemically unrelated stones. Nephrite is the softer and more common one, used in China for thousands of years and valued above gold there long before precious stones mattered in Europe. Jadeite is rarer and harder, and the vivid imperial green variety is the more valuable today. Both were worked mainly because they are extraordinarily tough rather than hard, resisting fracture in a way that made them practical for tools and blades before they were ornamental.

A muted blue-green

The colour named jade is a soft, desaturated green with a blue lean, produced by green moderately high, blue somewhat lower and red low. Its desaturation is what distinguishes it from emerald and mint: emerald is deeper and more vivid, mint is much lighter, and jade sits between them at middling brightness. That places it in a comfortable range for prolonged viewing, where neither light nor dark text has an obvious advantage, so contrast is worth checking rather than assuming.

On a panel

Muted mixtures like jade are more revealing of a display's calibration than saturated primaries are. A screen with oversaturated processing renders jade as a much more vivid green than it should be, and one running cool pushes it toward grey-blue. Setting it beside teal and mint on the same display shows whether the panel resolves closely related desaturated colours or flattens them into one.

Questions

Does this work on a phone?

Yes. On mobile the page fills the screen when you tap the panel. Some browsers keep a thin status bar visible, which is a browser limit rather than something the page controls.

Will a jade screen fix a stuck pixel?

Sometimes. A stuck pixel is lit in one color and can occasionally be freed by cycling colors rapidly for a few minutes. A dead pixel receives no power at all and cannot be recovered in software.

What is the hex code for this jade screen?

This page uses #00A86B. The same value is shown in RGB, HSL and CMYK further down, so you can match this exact shade somewhere else.

Does a jade screen save battery?

Not meaningfully. Only black saves power, and only on OLED and AMOLED panels where an unlit pixel is genuinely off. Any lit color, including a dark one, draws power.

Can I download this jade as a wallpaper?

Yes. There is a ready-made 1920 by 1080 PNG on this page, and the panel above will generate the same color at your own screen size, at 1440p or 4K, or at phone dimensions. No watermark and no sign-up.

Is it free?

Yes, and there is no sign-up. The page draws a color; that is the whole tool.
